Soulja Boy’s iPhone App: Romplr

So you might have heard about this, but if you haven’t, check this out: Soulja Boy has an iPhone app. A digital content agency, Moderati, partners up with Universal Music Group in launching Romplr. Basically, this app will enable you to tweak Soulja Boy’s songs up to the bass, drums, vocals and the sonic elements to make your own remix version. Here’s the demo video.

This app is up for grabs and you can get it for a mere $4.99. Currently there’s only 3 Soulja Boy tracks that can be tweaked with this app: ”Crank That,” “Hey You There” and the dancefloor hit: “Turn My Swag On.”

To those with Blackberry, don’t worry, although this app is only available for iPhone right now, they’re still developing it to be extended to other mobile platforms such as Blackberry, Android, Java and Ovi.

With the growing popularity of Soulja Boy’s hit single “Kiss Me Thru the Phone” featuring Sammy it was bound to happen right? Cricket Wireless has tapped Soulja Boy as their official in-store spokesperson and has been touring promoting the Cricket mobile brand.

He’s helped launch the new Mobile Music service, which lets Cricket customers download songs easily and direct to phones, wireless devices and personal computers.

The star singer came to town for a meet and greet autograph and photo session with fans at the Cricket outlet near our UNLV campus. Our contributing photographer Erik Kabik snapped these shots especially for Vegas DeLuxe.

Sean Kingston Joins Yums Shoes along with Soulja Boy

Soulja Boy friend and fellow musician Jamaican Singing/Rapping sensation Sean Kingston has signed a deal with Yums Shoes. The deal includes an apparel and sneaker licensing deal where Yums designer Tex will design an exclusive sneaker representing Seans unique taste and Jamaican heritage.

Kingston’s shoe will be the first design of a new original silhouette Yums will be launching in the Spring of 2009. The new shoe will consist of a blend of Jamaican colors which represents Sean Kingston’s heritage. The launch of the shoe (Spring 2009) will coincide with the release of Kingston’s highly anticipated sophomore album “Tomorrow”.
