So y’all might have watched the brotherly discussion between Soulja Boy and The President of Hip Hop: KRS-One.  Lotsa people claimed Soulja Boy has “killed” Hip Hop with his “trashy music”, but that’s not the deal with KRS himself.  As Soulja Boy said, “I hope I’m Hip-Hop.  I’ve been number 1 in the Hip Hop Charts”.

Other old-skoolers might diss him right there and then.  However, KRS-One did not.  He stated, “Every generation brings their own kind of presentation.” About the bitterness of other old-skoolers, KRS-One suspects that they might feel hurt out of (yeah I’m shocked to hear this too) worry.  “What most of us are expecting is a continuation of the legacy, that the work we did in the 70s, 80s, and 90s was not in vain,” said KRS. “That’s really where the hurt is coming from. That the younger generation would forget about us and the struggles. We had to fight for this, even to have a Rap City. We expect those that come after us to keep that torch lit.

Right now we’re dealing with a generation gap with younger people and us supposedly bitter old school Hip-Hoppers. By us being here we can settle a lot of the generation gap that is out here in the community today. And let me just say this [as] KRS-One, big respect to you [Soulja Boy] and welcome to Hip-Hop!”

I hear ya KRS-One.  So to all haters out there, chill out.  Music is about bringing people together.  So Soulja Boy is rich and not afraid to flaunt it.  It takes real talent and a dash of luck to get the whole nation dancing to his beat.  Soulja Boy is releasing his second album titled iSouljaBoy this coming November. To top it all off he has a shoe deal with YUMS SHOES and an animation series on the way.  Soulja Boy is building a career and he’s starting early.  If he’s going at this rate consistently, by the time he’s legal to drink, he’ll be taken care of for life.
